Another aspect of my practice is to encourage anyone who wants to read
cards to begin their spiritual journey right now. Because, reading cards is not as complicated as you may think. How do I know that? When I was 19 years old, I was in a beat up VW van heading to Washington DC to protest the Vietnam war. Suddenly, the guy sitting next to me put his
hand in his backpack, pulled out a deck of Tarot cards and said, “Do you want these?” And gave me an unopened pack of Rider Waite cards. I did not know what they were, I had never heard the word “Tarot” but I immediately recognized the magic that had just been gifted me. So after the protest march, getting tear-gassed, arrested and jailed, I finally arrived home with the cards in tow. I opened the package, took out the tiny instruction booklet, shuffled the cards and did my very first reading for my roommate using only the definitions provided by the limited guidebook. It was 100% precise and I did not have to memorize the cards’ meanings in order for the cards to “talk”. The cards always work. And I’ve been helping friends, family and clients ever since.
I prefer to use a Celtic Cross when I begin a session. It is the most
comprehensive, most in-depth spread for Tarot prophecy. However, I also love to throw an astrological wheel for birthdays or on the new year. This allows you to gaze into the future and to focus on what you need for each upcoming month.
